ELMIRA (WENY) - A proposed affordable-housing complex for seniors on the Southside of Elmira could soon come to fruition after the plan was put on the back burner last year. In 2015, CDS Housing, a Rochester, a Webster-based organization, tried to move the 50-unit housing proposal to the next step, but didn't have approval from the City of Elmira. Well now they've got both approval and support to bring a new affordable housing complex to the area.
CDS Housing, is looking to build a 50-unit affordable housing complex on the property at the former Mcnaught field on Maple Avenue in Elmira. The Elmira City School District sold the property to Let Elmira Live back in 2015. CDS Housing later purchased the land.
