"September is Suicide Awareness Month.

Tuesday, we focused on veterans because research shows they have a 63 percent higher risk of suicide once they get out of the military than those who remain enlisted.

We have a local agency ready to reach out and help those veterans who are struggling. We spoke with Chad Curtis, the development manager of the Warrior Salute Program and John Elliott -- the clinical coordinator -- about the issue."
