Over the past several months the residents at CDS Monarch Senior Living have been hosting a variety of fun activities to bring their community together. Activities have included a spaghetti dinner and cooking demonstration, a Super Bowl party, and a Victorian Tea Party. Residents take turns hosting the events, which usually take place in the Community Room.

For the Victorian Tea Party, hosted by Diane Hughes, great care was taken to decorate the Community Room, and attendees were invited to dress up and wear a fancy hat, in true Victorian fashion. On the menu were a variety of sandwiches, quiches, desserts, and of course, tea.

At the Spaghetti Dinner, the host, Lucille Romano, did a cooking demonstration for attendees on how to make a traditional Italian dish of spaghetti, sauce and meatballs. Prizes were given out during a game of pasta trivia, and everyone got to take home the chef's recipe, coupons for the products used in the cooking demonstration, and an extra dish of pasta.

The residents already have plans in place for more activities like these, including a weekly group exercise class.
