What is People First Language? People First Language are words or phrases that respectfully puts the person before the disability. A person with a disability is more like people without disabilities, than they are DIFFERENT!

Using People First Language can move us in a new direction. People First Language is not political correctness; instead, it demonstrates good manners, respect, and more--it can change the way we see a person, and change how a person sees themselves!

Below are some examples of how you can use People First Language.
