Jen Landrigan began working for CDS Monarch 12 years ago at Perinton as a Treatment Coordinator in S16. In 2002, she joined the residential team, working as a Behavior Specialist for four years. After this, she moved to Webster Creative Opportunities and in 2011 added Linden Creative Opportunities to her schedule one day per week.

Some of Jen's daily duties include writing support plans, training staff, coming up with ideas to address different concerns and needs, teaching SCIP, helping with day to day operations, and working on a variety of activities for the individuals. She also assists with Meals on Wheels twice a week, helps facilitate Journey to Achieve Meetings at WCO, and serves on the Day Hab Intake Committee. She also took an Alzheimer's training course as part of her own development, and now she trains other staff who work with individuals experiencing Alzheimer's or similar diagnoses.

One of Jen's favorite parts of her job is interacting with the individuals. "I've gotten to know a lot of individuals because of I've worked in so many places," she said.

Her advice for other staff members is to "have patience and compassion, and put yourself in the other person's shoes once in awhile." Jen believes that this opens up understanding of why some people do the things that they do.

"Jen has played a vital role in ensuring the safety of individuals at WCO," said Program Manager, Derek Janto. "Jen truly cares about everyone she works with and is a valued member of the CDS Monarch team."

In her free time Jen enjoys spending time with her two kids, attending their activities, and vacationing, particularly in the Adirondacks. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to the individuals we serve, Jen!
