On Wednesday, December 19th, pre-school and kindergarten students from KinderCare visited their neighbors at CDS Monarch Senior Living to bring them some stone soup and spread some holiday cheer!

After the success of a Halloween parade and trick-or-treating with CDS Monarch Senior Living, Michelle Lewis, the director of KinderCare, reached out to see if the children could come back for a holiday celebration.

The children recently read a story about stone soup and were then encouraged to do good deeds without being asked. Each time a child did a good deed, they received a vegetable to add to the soup. If everyone earned a vegetable, they would be able to visit the residents of CDS Monarch Senior Living to bring them the soup.

Along with the stone soup, the KinderCare children brought a basket of canned goods and sang Christmas songs for the seniors, including "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" and "Jingle Bells".

All enjoyed the visit, and KinderCare and the residents of CDS Monarch Senior Living hope to have more events together in the future.
